The Young Water Professional Italian chapter (YWPIT) aims at creating an inclusive networking platform to engage and form a network of young water professionals (YWPs) able to promote the advancement of the water-related fields both in Italy and worldwide, and to contribute and advocate for IWA’s mission and vision. Connecting Italian YWPs - including YWPs from other nationalities in Italy, as well as Italians abroad - studying or working in different sectors in Italian and abroad institutions, universities, and companies (e.g.,  water utilities) is our main goal. 

In detail, the key objectives of the YWP Italian chapter are to:

• Develop human capital in the Italian water sector by empowering YWPs;

• Develop an interdisciplinary network with young participants from different water-related areas (e.g., hydrology, hydraulics, sewer management, drinking water, wastewater, biowaste);

• Promote IWA initiatives and programs, and encourage active participation among group members;

• Facilitate communication, knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary scientific collaboration between YWPs;

• Promote engagement between young academics and water-related companies and facilitate career development in both academia and industry;

• Enforce the leading role of YWPs Italian chapter in water-related areas and finally form an exclusive consortium in the Mediterranean Region.
